About This Course

Sustainable Project Management (CSPP™) is designed for professionals who want to integrate sustainability principles into project planning, decision-making, and delivery. Through the integration of case studies and examples from the construction industry, learners will gain a deep understanding of project management fundamentals, including the triple constraint, product scope vs. work scope, stakeholder engagement, and budgeting and monitoring.

This course stands out by emphasizing sustainable project management best practices based on the Green Project Management (GPM) P5 Standard. Learners will explore environmental considerations related to People, Planet, Profit, Product, and Process. By adopting the Projects Integrating Sustainable Methods (PRISM) approach, learners will acquire the skills to effectively manage the entire project life cycle while seamlessly integrating it with their organization’s existing practices.

Additionally, learners will develop the ability to identify and mitigate risks in crucial areas such as carbon emission reduction within supply chains, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) hiring practices, minimizing the project’s impact on local ecosystems, and creating positive local economic impacts. This course empowers learners to make informed decisions that promote sustainability across all aspects of construction project management.

This course prepares learners for the Certified Sustainable Project Professional (CSPP™) certification (formerly known as the Green Project Manager Basic (GPM-b™)), a globally recognized credential developed through a partnership between Project Management Institute (PMI) and Green Project Management (GPM).

  • Skillfully engaging and negotiating with project stakeholders to promote sustainable outcomes
  • Evaluating potential suppliers based on sustainable criteria to support responsible procurement
  • Identifying and prioritizing risks and opportunities to ensure sustainable project success
  • Methodically documenting project success criteria for comprehensive construction project evaluation
  • Precisely estimating, budgeting, and scheduling project phases for efficient resource allocation
  • Cultivating a stronger and more diverse construction project team to foster innovation and inclusivity
  • Effectively understanding and managing conflicts that may arise during project execution
  • Accurately reporting on project progress, utilizing quantitative and qualitative metrics
  • Providing input data materiality for ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) reporting and disclosures, ensuring transparency and accountability
  • Preparing for the Certified Sustainable Project Professional (CSPP™) certification exam

The CSPP™ exam is included in this course, for those who choose to take it. We will provide instructions on how to schedule your online exam after the course.
