HRA3600 Commissioning for HVAC Systems – ASHRAE 36 Guideline

This course provides practical knowledge and skills for applying ASHRAE Guideline 36 to the design, control, commissioning, and optimization of high-performance HVAC systems. Participants will explore standardized control sequences for AHUs, VAV systems, chilled-water and boiler plants, including key strategies such as Trim & Respond, temperature and pressure resets, plant optimization, and request-generation logic.

The course also introduces automated fault detection and diagnostics (AFDD), functional performance testing, commissioning, BAS architecture, and BACnet integration. Through applied examples and review and interpretation of HVAC control sequences from the ASHRAE Guideline 36 document, participants will develop an understanding of how standardized sequences can be implemented, tested, and optimized in real-world building automation applications.
